Before I begin, this topic is about a Florida law called the Baker Act. If you’re unfamiliar with what that is, essentially it’s a mandatory 72 hour psychiatric hold for people that are a danger to themselves or others.

I’m against it anyways since it’s anti-consent and easy to abuse... but that’s not what this topic is about.

Should CHILDREN be able to be baker acted without parental knowledge/consent? What would you do if your child was baker acted by their school?

I didn’t realize children applied to the Baker Act, and I’m horrified. This JUST happened at a local school
