When to buy baby stuff

Question

When should I start buying baby things? I'm about 20 weeks I have some small things but what do I really need and when to buy it. Should I start going crazy now or later lol.

Are you having a shower? If you are, you should wait till after it.

I had everything I needed by 26 weeks... I'm a control freak and needed to have it all under control

If you’re having a baby shower, I would recommend working on the big ticket items like furniture, car seats, stroller now and hold off on the stuff like clothes, diapers, toys until after the baby shower

I started buying the big stuff around 24 wks. Keep in mind if you’re ordering some furniture from stores it could take some time to driver. I ordered my dresser in August and don’t get it until beginning of December

I have my crib and Changing table put together, have a bunch of clothes, few bottles, my diaper bags not much else yet I'm 24 weeks.
I'm planning on getting most things before the baby shower, as they're won't be many guests nor do i have great relationships with family and I'd honestly rather not have one but my father in law is throwing one anyway..
So I'm only asking for favorite baby books and diapers/wipes

I bought big stuff like the crib & stroller/car seat set around 32 ish weeks. & I didn’t really start looking for smaller stuff until I was over the “viability” point which where I live is 23 weeks. Idk if it is different other places. 
If you’re having a baby shower wait until after your shower because then you can just buy whatever you don’t receive
