Copper IUD

Can anyone give me you experience (long or short term) with the copper IUD. I’m debating between the copper and hormonal but leaning more towards copper I just need more info.

How painful is the insertion process, did they give you any meds beforehand?

Pros and cons?

Which type of IUD would you recommend?

Also has anyone gained or lost weight being on either type of IUD (that’s my biggest worry)
