Weird Situation...Need Advice!!!
My high school friend from 10 yrs ago is getting married and Im so excited to go with my man. We're not married yet but I we discussed getting engaged so I'm excited to show him off!!
Buut...there's a tiny issue....
And old friend will be there and since he's also a high school alumni, he'll prob be on my table since the list of hs friends is small. Why is that a problem you ask? Well lemmme tell you sisters...
(Just a disclaimer: Please don't judge with what Im about to tell you!. I do that to myself enough and I know what I'm about to say is kinda ridiculous, just hear me out because I could use some advice from some friendly honest strangers and since then Ive been a healthy and productive person.)
SO, a few years ago I had a small problem with pot. It was for a short time, a little hiccup in my life and I was stupid and looking to keep the fun going. I had contacted a few friends who I THOUGHT smoked too or who had a liberal lifestyle (this guy friend is gay and performs in drag some weekends). He was one of the friends I contacted. I remember he had completely ignored me which quite honestly in hindsight I would've done the same thing.
When I sobered up, I apologized to him for me being a creep and for wanting to smoke with him but still I got no response. Thats cool. I get it. That was several yeara ago, maybe 4 yrs.
Fast forward to this week where my girl friend from HS tells me all the HS friends coming to her wedding and now I'm paranoid. What if he's sitting at our table? What if he puts me on the spot?? Omg what if he tells my man?!?!
A part of me says to ask my friend to sit us separately but another more logical part says just drop it. That was from a while ago and you're a changed woman so just smile when you see him and pretend nothing happened.
What would you do in my place? My man doesnt know about that phase of my life and honestly he doesn't need to know right now, I will tell him myself when I'm ready. Ladies, what should I do if my friend puts me on the spot about that situation? How should I be if hes at my table?
