Need help weird spotting... period?

Hey lady’s so started what I thought was my period on the 3rd but now I’m not so sure it’s been spotting didn’t need a tampon and it never went on my pad just dark red or pink when I wiped and it lasted about 4 days ... not sure what it means or if it was my period ... should I take a pregnancy test? Just wondering if any of you guys have dealt with this? Please let me know
