when should i start my bc?

i got my birth control on friday, and i completely zoned out when the doctor was talking about when i can start it or i just forgot. all my friends have told me different things and i feel like you guys usually give accurate advice. when should i start it? when i get my period next, after my period, or right now? does it matter??

You can start on the Sunday after your period or the last day of your period. I have been told a lot of different things and it may depend on the pill if it is progesterone by itself or not there is alot to it. "They" say by skipping the last 7 pills and starting the next pack you wont get your period worked for one of my friends not me. Your body is unique I have always started on the Sunday after the end of my period though
 I know it's a long answer for 1 question but I was hella lost too when I started borth control I was 15 and terrified
