Fertility Clinic Experience?

Question

I'm starting to consider going to a fertility clinic, but it won't be covered by my insurance. I'm worried about unnecessary tests and interventions driving up the cost. That being said, I'm willing to pay for what is necessary. Has anyone felt like they were pushed tondo unnecessary things? Any recommendations on questions to ask? Thanks!

I just started going to a infertility clinic. And I’ve had a really good experience. I highly recommend going if you haven’t had any success.

My doctor hasn’t pushed for anything unnecessary. There was a surgery that was elective that she thought would be helpful but she simply gave us the option and told us to think on it and to set up the appointment if we wanted it. 
She is really passionate about her job and sees a lot of heartbreak and just wants to take that away from her patients. 
I told her about a documentary that my husband and I watched and we explained how it was scary as the situations are similar and told her what it was all about.. she started tearing up. 
I think the key is to find a doc who cares and listens and doesn’t push. 
We did walk away from the first clinic we went to because the doctor there kept telling us all the stuff we would need to do and was aggressive.

I’ve never felt pushed into anything and if anything mine have been helpful in trying to save me money! On my first round of Clomid I didn’t grow any follicles and at the scan when we saw that she didn’t even charge me the $104 for the scan.. that being said I’m seeing a new fertility clinic tomorrow so I hope they’re the same!
