East coast October vacations?!

So my fiancé and I are getting married mid-October. We will be taking our kids (3y & 6m) with us sooooo we’re looking for kid friendly vacation spots. We’re from Upstate NY.. we want to be on a beach but are driving so looking to stay above VA!
Any ideas?!

Any beach from VA Beach north is going to be incredibly cold in October.  I grew up in VA Beach, and it's definitely not beach weather by October.
That being said, Ocean City, MD is pretty cool.
