How many words does your 22 month old say?
My 22 month old son only says about 15-20 words if that. I was reading online and it said most 22 month olds speak 50-100!! I’m a little concerned now! At our last check up we told his doctor how he was a little behind on his speech but that he was trying to say new words and the doctor said he was fine and that he might just be a little bit slower than others but it wasn’t an issue.
Should I bring this up at our next appointment and possibly get him enrolled in speech development type classes?
He says all the first words like mama, dada, daddy, mommy, bye bye, hi, etc. he’s also recently starting saying there you go, thank you, car, ball, bite bite (for food), etc. and he knows animal sounds like moo, woof woof, etc. He also knows what something means even if he can’t say it. Example we can say where are your shoes? And he will go get them out of a different room with no help.
Anyone else have a toddler around this age? How many words are they saying?
