After miscarriage

I had a miscarriage almost a month ago and the bleeding lasted about a week. Since then no bleeding. And I also took a pregnancy test to make sure all of the hormones were out of my system and the test was negative.

I’ve been waiting for a period or something to happen. Then last week I was having symptoms that I was ovulating which I wasn’t sure was possible? On Wednesday I took an ovulation test and it was very very positive along with the symptoms I was having (they were the same as they were when I conceived back in December.) My doctor said I didn’t have to wait till after my first period to start trying again so we started trying again after the bleeding ended.

Everyone’s different so I have no idea if I was really ovulating or not. I know it’s not impossible because a friend of mine got pregnant 12 day’s after her miscarriage and has a little 6 month old now.

So I guess my question is, how long did it take to get a period again and how common is it to get pregnant after a miscarriage without a period first?
