Carrier Screening
I was screened through the reproductive endocrinology team at my hospital which tests for approx 176 disorders.
However, the IVF department uses a different tests that tests for 250+ disorders.
I was found to be a carrier of a rare disease on my test.
My doctor says there is no need to do the larger test because it will delay things another two weeks for us to get results back, then longer if I test positive and my husband needs another test.
I am still just paranoid and regret we didn't do the larger test. My hospital admits it's annoying both departments use different tests. I had just done one through the endo team because I could get it knocked out before my first IVF appt.
