Solids?!

Our pediatrician gave us the ok to start solids here soon! I heard all the rant about not giving baby rice cereal, what about baby oatmeal with some fruit? I saw they have “supported sitter 1st food” for baby oatmeal.

Gut Health is extremely important, so allow your babe to approach it when they are ready. If you start too soon it really can cause them discomfort and gas! It’s recommended that you wait until they are 6 months.

We are using beech nut oatmeal . I mix it with either formula r breast milk . She seems to like it

We have been using this kind and mixing it with her formula. She has not been gassy and has had no tummy issues. She loves it !!

Oatmeal with veggies or fruit is a great idea! To just get my babies accustomed to taste we would do a little oatmeal with say sweet potato purée first. Then every 3-5 days after no sign of allergy do a new food. Id usually mix purée for the first couple weeks then around 6 months is when we’d start more baby led weaning style eating
