How do I get my 21month old from co sleeping to crib trained?

I had trained my girl to sleep on her own at 6 months, but at 9 months her lazy father never wanted to take the time and go through a routine, so he started bringing her into our bed. Now she won’t leave it. I do love sleeping next to my girl, but the process it takes to put her to sleep makes me miss out on a lot of housework. A small part of it is me missing space on my bed! Help.

We moved both our kids from co sleeping from birth to sleeping on a floor bed in their own room at 18m. Keep your routine. Start with naps. It took about 2 weeks of consistency and they both were fine sleeping in there. I do put them to sleep  excuse I don’t believe in sleep training but basically, read them a book and lay with them about 15-20 mins and they are out. I have realistic expectations of their sleep, my son still wakes 1-2 times a night and my daughter woke at least once until she was 3. That being said no tears, minimal work/effort and almost no associated issues. Idk both my kids are totally different and I hear all these horror stories about going from co sleeping to sleeping independently and haven’t expectant myself. I always think to myself, I got to sleep through the night the first 18m of their lives because of co sleep so what’s 18 m of waking once or twice a night. Definitely worth the trade off to me, much better then up every hour or two that most people go through with their kids the first 6m.

Honestly it’s a pain. You have to have a  routine.  Like for my son. He get a bath story time and some milk and we brushes teeth. Than check if he needs a diaper change than bed.  We do a hug and kiss I say good night. When he was younger I would sing to him a good night song.  
We co slept tell he was about a year old. Than I had to move him to his room.  At first I had to hold him tell he fall asleep than move him to his crib ￼, it was about a month of that. Than I would put him to bed and sing to him and say good night. I had to stay in the room singing to him for about a two weeks. That I worked on getting closer to out the room. I moved closer to the door ever few days.  When he fell asleep I leave. Now I can just put him to bed after the routine and he goes to sleep on his own. It was a lot of work and there was a lot of crying. But you know your child better than anyone do what works for you.
