Pregnancy scare

Hello all, I’m afraid I may be pregnant and want some advice. I had sex on February 2. I took a pregnancy test today (February 9) and it came out negative. My periods are super irregular since I’m on birth control. When should I take the next test? Should I wait two weeks after I’ve had sex? Wait until I’m supposed to get my period? Or does it matter?
