I know a similar question was asked on here recently but mine is a different situation. My husbands cousin has a two year old with the name that is our favorite girl name. He said he’d be ready to use it if not for this cousin. We see his cousin once a year, they live 10 hrs away. If we decide to use the name I would definitely give the cousins wife the heads up (we are friendly and get along great just don’t see each other often) and make sure she’s ok with it - though I’d be annoyed if she said she wasn’t lol. If it’s your favorite name would you use it or find something else? It’s a fairly common name if that matters and I’m thinking we could always find a family nickname for his family to use if it ends up being annoying for the one time a year we are together!
