Anyone waited to try for another one once your child go to school?

Question

Was it easier on you or harder? I don't want to have another one back to back I want to focus on my first as much as I can before planning for another one. Mabey until she's in first grade. She is 10 months old

My daughter was 8-1/2 when her brother was born last year. It’s been hard having to start over but we all adjusted very quickly. My kids just adore each other despite their large age gap and they play all the time. Having an older kid who’s able to take care of themselves for the most part has helped tremendously especially on the days where baby is just being super fussy and only wants me, I can depend on my daughter to get herself ready for bed and make her lunch for school the next day. It’s been an adjustment for us all, but I’ve really enjoyed having an older kid and a baby.

I don’t plan on trying for another one until my daughter is 3, so next child would be born hopefully around the time my daughter goes to K4. I’m doing this largely because I can’t afford full-time daycare for two kids at the same time.

Our kids are 20, 15, 12, and 13 weeks lol! It’s nice to focus on baby but I also have to wake him up early and bring him along as I get big kids to and from school bus stops etc so it’s a give and take. We’ll probably ttc another soon so he has a buddy to grow up with as the older kids will all be gone as he starts school.

My first and second are 7 years apart and it was honestly such a blessing. My son was such a great help. There was no jealousy because he was able to understand the situation and it made him feel proud and important when he could help me out with her. Now my daughter is a year old and she will only be 18 months when baby number 3 is here and I’m honestly terrified of it. There’s no way I can make her understand yet what’s happening and she’s very high maintainance so jealousy will be a big issue. Or letting the baby nap 🙈
