Waking up screaming from a nap

My son will wake up crying daily from his nap. Which I can’t get him to sleep longer than 45 minutes. He is so tired still but won’t let himself sleep. I’m losing my mind. He doesn’t want food, water, pushes me away when I try to comfort him and basically just has a crying fit for a half hour literally every. Single. Day. Does this happen to anyone else?
