Echogenic bowel and calcium on heart
They made me take a test for toxoplasmosis (which is crazy since I'm never around cats or birds and haven't been ill), and a horizon panel to mainly test for Cystic Fibrosis because they found a "brighter than usual bowel" which they're saying is echogenic. Mind you I'm 22 weeks pregnant this week and up until now all tests/scans have come back great. I haven't been sick at all no other other symptoms.
My previous anatomy scan (this was my second at a different office), was all good except for they wanted better photos of the heart since it was only 19 weeks at the time. Therefore I switched to today's place. Today along with the Horizon panel and testing for Toxoplasmosis, they mentioned there was a calcium spot on baby's heart? She said it may be nothing but they want to be cautionary about it.
I totally understand being pre cautionary but WOW the way they explain things, I feel is designed to scare and intimidate us. I mean doc didn't even give me an option for doing the pre pregnancy horizon panel testing she was very condescending about. I plan to not go back as the experience was awful.
Anyway - husband and I are totally stressed. Does anyone have a clue about this kinda thing or has been thru similar?
Thank you for any help / thoughts / suggestions.
P.S
Already called my main OBGYN as this was a level two so it was outsourced to a "specialist" I'm waiting to hear back from her so we can discuss it.
