ER trip dehydrated, low potassium, low BP
Just wanted to share, especially for my ladies who also have morning sickness. I’ve had pretty bad morning sickness the first 14-16 weeks of pregnancy, I thought I was finally through it until it came back with a vengeance yesterday (I’m 21 weeks). I was unable to keep anything down and then today I peed and it was very orange. Never a good sign. I was also super lightheaded and just felt off. So my butt had to go down to the ER where they discovered I was dehydrated, my potassium was low, BP was low at 86/65, and my pulse was starting between 115-130 bpm. I was in the ER all day getting potassium and fluids, I was almost admitted as my BP would not go back up, my pulse was also staying fast, so they were worried about me passing out. Finally after another round of fluids my BP went up to 90/70 and my pulse went down to 105 bpm which they felt was a safe level for me to go home.
My point being this was all caused by my morning so I’m just reminding everyone to keep an eye on you’re bodies and go in if you feel you need to. Had I not went in when I did the doctor said he had no doubt in his mind I would have ended up passing out and being admitted tonight.
