Femara or clomid?

Question

Saw my gyno who suggested to start 2.5 mg Femara sicne I have pco. I still ovulate on my own tho with regular cycles 
A fertility doctor at a fertility clinic today said he would prefer clomid as he has seen higher results from that. 
What's your experience if any?
Husband has normal sperm count  just been ttc for 15 months with nothing close to a pregnancy.

Everyone reacts to the medications differently, but in my experience I preferred Femara. I did 6 rounds of Clomid and only ovulated twice. I got pregnant off one of those times, but sadly it was a chemical pregnancy. It also made me ovulate WAY late and I had crazy side effects. After a year and a half my doctor refused to change treatments so I switched doctors. My new doctor started me on Femara and it was a dream compared to Clomid. Absolutely no side effects, I ovulated on time every time, and after 3 rounds I am currently 7+3 days pregnant! So in my case Femara was the better option. Thanks ladies! I think due to what I've heard reg symptoms and what my gyno said, I'll start with Letrozole (Femara) low dose and see how it goes. 
The fertility specialist also said were good candidates for IUI or mini IVF but would want to try naturally just with meds first for a few rounds.
Did you have monitored cycles with clomid/femara? If so how many times do you have to go for scans in one cycle?

My doctor gave me the choice between the two and I decided to go with Letrozole (Femara). I did a lot of research and it seemed like the side effects were minimal compared to Clomid. I just started my second cycle and the only side effect I’ve noticed is a headache. But I have found that drinking a lot of water keeps that at bay. I take it at night and I think that helps a lot. Hopefully we both have success with it! Good luck! ♥️

I stopped ovulating randomly for a whole year it was like as soon as we decided we wanted another child my body said NOPE. I took clomid (50mg) for the first time ever in December 2019 and I got pregnant. First round. I am now almost 9 weeks. Everyone is different so you hafta see what works for you. Good luck!

I did 4 rounds of femara, one with trigger shot and all 4 were negative. I just did my first round of clomid plus trigger and I'm pretty sure that also failed.  I think it just depends how you do with the med. Good luck!
