Valentine’s Day?

Question

As Christians should we celebrate Valentine’s Day? It could be something as simple as giving your significant other a sweet card or receiving flowers.

My 8 year old daughter decided that she without God there would be no love to share and spread so her conclusion was that Valentines day is a chance for her to share Gods love with others. Valentines day is almost unavoidable on public school but she chose to decorate her bag with thankful affirmations to God. Anyway I didnt push any idea on her, she came up with it herself. My husband actually did get me flowers but I do not expect it. Just another way of looking at it.

I don’t see why it can’t be celebrated within the Christian community. I personally don’t celebrate because I don’t find it important when my husband & I gift give & celebrate each other often without special occasions.

Yes? Why wouldn't we? We're celebrating the love we have with others whether it be our parents, kids, friends, or spouse. For instance, I get to celebrate the love I have with my husband and God created marriage  and brought us to together so why not? Also it can be about celebrating the ultimate love: Jesus Christ and his sacrifice

My boyfriend and I celebrate it and don’t see a problem with it. It’s nice feeling some extra love and appreciation

I don't see why there's anything wrong with it. But I also don't see there's a need or obligation to. My husband and I don't do it. But I think it's important to be loving each other every day of the year. It doesn't have to be an obligatory day to do so if you don't want to. That's just my opinion though. And I don't think there's an obligation as a Christian to celebrate it or not.
