Months long heavy periods

So I had my period for a month, missed it for a month, and now have it again and it’s been two months almost three. I got nexplanon two or 1.5 years ago and my periods were great until now, so I’m not sure nexplanon affected it. Can somebody help, does anyone know what’s going on? Is it serious?
