Can someone please explain to me what I will need for when little one arrives?

Question

The internet says so much and telling me something different. I’m a first time mum and feeling so unprepared and stupid asking these question!!
What bedding do I need? Where will she sleep when she first arrives? When should I wash her clothes? What clothes do I actually need for her? Any information would be brilliant!!
(I’m due May 24th in the UK)

I'm uk also, this is my 3rd and learnt what not to waste money on
Things I will be getting this time are
Tommee tippee prep machine (life saver if bottle feeding)
Snuz pod co sleeping crib until 6 months then they'll go in there own bedroom in a cot
Sleepy head
Mamaroo swing
Plenty of baby grows in all sizes
Vests
Nappies
Wipes
I'm re using my sons babyzen yoyo pram and just buying the newborn part
Car seat
Wash stuff, nappy cream ect
And I'd definitely stock up on calpol, teething stuff, stuff for if they have a cold(calpol plug in is a must) infacol and gripe water so you have it all ready so if they did get poorly or anything you have it all at hand.
1 more thing I reccomend but for you, if you go to boots or superdrug ect get some wash called 'badedas' it's a green bottle it helps with healing down there after birth it's amazing stuff 
This is just stuff I've found most useful with my other 2 and found I've had a lot I buy but goes to waste for the sake of buying alot

Dont wash a bunch of clothes ahead of time bc your baby may be born big and never even fits in newborn clothing or they may only wear newborn clothing for a couple days. If you take all the tags off and wash everything ahead of time you wont be able to return anything that you don't use.

Our babies come home and sleep in a bassinet. I recommend 2-3 sheets and 2-3 waterproof mattress protectors. If you layer protector, sheet, protector, sheet, you don’t have to put a new sheet on in the middle of the night. Large receiving blankets for swaddling, and a small sleep sack. As for clothes I suggest footie pajamas and onesies for the first few months.

I’m US so some of our recommendations are different. And I go above & beyond on safe sleep. 
Sleep space: Recommendation here is that they sleep in their own space in your room for at least 6 mo, preferably a year. We used a bassinet until baby outgrew it & then a pack & play. Some struggle to sleep with baby in room, we enjoy having him close so we did 18 mo. You’ll want two sheets for these spaces so you have one while the other is washing. No bumpers, no soft toys, no blankets. 
Swaddle blankets: I don’t feel confident enough in swaddle blankets for while I’m sleeping so I do at least two of the Velcro swaddle options like the Halo sleep sack. I do use swaddle blankets in the car (can’t wear coats in their seats, it interferes with the restraints), for covers while nursing, to drape over the infant seat when we’re out to keep germs off some. 
Clothes: Skip the cute stuff with hoods except for coats. They sleep all the time. I don’t like that extra material around their faces while they sleep & I don’t want to take a top off when they go down for naps. Typically the rule is one more layer than you would wear. So if I’m in a t-shirt, baby wears an undershirt & t-shirt. Good booties like Zutanos that stay on. Couple hats. 
Diapers & wipes: you don’t know what size baby is going to wear for how long. Don’t buy a ton of NB. Plus Butt Paste or other diaper rash ointment. 
Bottles: get a couple to see how baby works & how nursing works out. 
Nursing bras & tanks & pads. Get a couple of each. But don’t invest heavily until you know how nursing is going. 
Car seat & stroller: depends on rural/urban, etc. We do have to drive everywhere so we used an infant seat (bucket that clicks into/out of a base in your car) I like it better than starting in a convertible seat. With the infant seat I can put him in/take him out in the house. Plus we could go into the store without waking him. For stroller, I liked having one the infant seat clicked into. Works for grocery shopping, too. 
Really, a lot of it you can figure out as you go. Every kid is different so there’s no formula. Start with the basics. They sell a lot of unnecessary crap and their marketing is good.
