Feeling helpless and scared
Our baby girl will be 9 months on the the 13th. Yesterday she was diagnosed with an ear infection, bronchiolitis and RSV. We feel so helpless 😞. She is such a warrior that she is her playful self for the most part and then she has these awful coughing fits to the point of going pale white and starting to close her eyes until what seems like the last second she FINALLY catches her breath. The longest lasted about a minute and a half but it felt like forever. We have a nebulizer at home that we’ve been using but these really bad coughing fits are still happening around 3 times a day and each one gets worse then before. I feel like she should be admitted to the hospital until this has passed but the ER released her yesterday after 8 hours. Has anyone else dealt with bronchiolitis or similar coughing episodes in an infant? Is there anything we can do while they are happening to get her to breath? I am one more coughing fit away from bringing her back to the hospital and demanding she be admitted but who knows if they will listen. The discharge paper says come back if she turns blue or isn’t breathing but that is BS bc then it could be too late. This is the scariest thing we have ever experienced and we just want to do everything we can for our baby girl to be ok.
