thinking about going gender fluid

I have thought about going gender fluid for about 4 years but my parents are very transphobic. I am honestly very confused on my gender or if I should go gender fluid or not. I told my boyfriend and he was shocked but understanding. He told me that even if I was, that he would still love me. I want to know, how do I find my gender and how do I interact with those around me.
