Is tea okay?

I once had a friend who said you couldn’t drink any teas while pregnant. She said you could only drink this one special tea that was sold at Babies R Us. Now that’s closed and I don’t know what it’s called. With the cold weather, I love tea to sooth my throat.

Caffeine free green or black tea are typically safe. Some herbal teas can cause uterine contractions so that is the main issue with tea. I’m a huge tea drinker so I was sure to check into this haha

I definitely drink tea! Drinking some right now!  From what I have researched some caffeine is fine so a cup or 2 of black or green tea should be fine. Herbal teas though do some research, there are quite a few herbs that are recommended to avoid. There are a few that are specifically for pregnancy, just not supposed to drink a ton of any of it.

My doctor told me today black teas are fine. Stay away from herbal teas because herbs are known to cause the uterus to contract.

Theres some herbal teas you should only have in moderation Ive read.. not sure which types, maybe check with doctor

I've drank my weight in tea 😂 I did with my first too. I think it's just the caffeine that's bad
