I guess it depends on how you look at the word obligated and what that means in a relationship. I feel as though the commitment we’ve made together includes satisfying each other’s needs sexually among other things. He and I agree on this, that’s why we are together. But obligated doesn’t mean forcing someone to be sexual against their will. Sometimes I feel like I want sex and he’s tired or whatever or vice versa (although rare, it happens) neither of us force it in that moment. But despite there being those occasions we both feel sexually satisfied in our relationship, so that “obligation” is fulfilled. I think there is a problem when someone with holds affection/sex as a punishment, uses it as a weapon, or straight up is completely selfish and doesn’t care about their partners needs ever. I think it’s important for partners to have similar levels of desire and attitudes and feelings on sex from the beginning.
