When did you stop swaddling your baby?? My baby is 2 months old and i feel like she still enjoys it and sleeps so well swaddled up but her pediatrician told me it’s time to start weening her off of it... caught me by surprise so i didn’t ask why but now i wonder why 🥴🥴🥴

There are also sleep sacks you can use that are safe once they roll

You can also start with swaddling one hand in and one out to help her get used to being hands free

Try the long sleeve sleep sack that may help

I started transitioning mine around ten weeks because she was getting very wiggly. She also started to like sucking on her hand.Started with leaving one arm up, then one arm out, then both arms and now we don’t even have to use a sleep slack she’ll sleep in her footed pjs. She’ll be three months this week.

You’re welcome! I’m glad we started earlier because I didn’t want to just roll over all the sudden and have to stop cold turkey

I swaddled my first maybe once or twice in the hospital, but I never really liked the look of it as he seemed so pitiful and constricted so never again after that. But I've always heard to stop when they can roll.

Do it until you absolutely can’t anymore. For us that was when she was strong enough to undo the best swaddles & was waking herself up multiple times a night because of it. We transitioned with one arm out for about a week, then we wrapped her body with both arms out for about a week, & switched to a sleep sack that we’re still using now. She was around 10 weeks old when we started doing one arm out. Good thing too, because she started rolling at 12 weeks.

My daughter already wiggles her way out of it but only once she wakes up... she will be 10 weeks on Friday so i might have to start then, i dont want her trying to roll while swaddled that sounds scary lol... but thank you ☺️

It's because your baby is capable of rolling and your baby will roll before you know they can. Full arm swaddling and in my opinion any swaddling is not safe if they can. The recommendation is to stop at 8 weeks because of that. Kine rolled for the first time at 6 weeks but we never swaddled after leaving the hospital so it wasnt an issue.

Its suppose to be because they can roll, but honestly my kids hated to not be swaddled so we got the bigger sleep sacks and just kept swaddling them till they almost a year and they 5 n 2 now and roll themselves up in their blankets still

Yeah my daughter loves being swaddled while she’s asleep but once shes awake she maneuvers her way out of it... she’s still not rolling so i think ill stop when i notice her trying to roll.. thank you ☺️
