Hi gals! So I never really learned about sex education or birth control from my parents and I live in Florida which also has one of the worse sex education programs in the country.. So I made the decision once I left for college to start birth control because I heard it can help with heavy periods and cramps, also because I’ve been in a committed relationship and I want to be protected for when we are sexually active.

I started birth control last week Thursday by the recommendation of my NP. My period was suppose to start last week but I didn’t get it until Sunday. However this period is wayyyyyy lighter than my normal and i usually only need one to two pads a day versus my normal five to six. I’ve continued taking my birth control because I wasn’t sure if I should stop taking the pill or continue taking it since I’m still at the beginning of my pack. I’ve tried getting in contact with my NP but she’s been unreachable

please HELP! or tell me if you had any similar experiences when start birth control 🥺
