throwing my own shower?

I don’t have a best friend but a lot of close friends. I definitely wouldn’t mind throwing my own shower and there are certain people I wouldn’t want at my shower.
Has anyone else done this?

I threw my own shower for my son. I wanted something very casual and my mother in law didn’t want it casual lol. She’ll be throwing my Sprinkle tho.

I threw my own, never had anyone offer and I wanted one. It was great for me though because I'm terrible about speaking up and so I was able to just have it the way I wanted.

My mom has thrown all 3 of my showers the first 2 she basically done it all but this last one I feel she basically paid for it and I had to do the picking stuff up for the party, decorating, cleaning up after I was upset because I felt it should be fun for me and it was more work. My SO mom didnt help do anything for any of them. She just showed up for the shower but didnt try and help clean up or decorate or anything. Its completely up to you what you want to do and some people would rather throw their own but I'm completely opposite and would rather just come to the shower and enjoy everyone's company without having to do the cleaning up.
