Hey there! I don’t really know how to write this so just bare with me.  Both my boyfriend and I are 21. We’re not actively ttc but we’re also not doing anything to prevent a pregnancy. I was on the pill but stopped. My periods are super irregular but I know I ovulate, just don’t know when. I don’t have PCOS or anything like that. My question is.. how has nothing happened? My fear is that I won’t be able to get pregnant. Any insight?

My period is irregular too, and I'm not allowed to go on birth control due to family medical history issues. I was told when I was 17 that if my cycle didn't regulate, I probably wouldnt be able to conceive. Well almost 7 years later with no regularity to af, I found out I was pregnant after 5 months of my husband and I not actively ttc but also not preventing. It wasnt an easy pregnancy, but I'm now sitting here looking at my beautiful 2 year old and just know I will give him a sibling one day! We are back to not actively ttc but not really preventing too. Just keep the faith, whatever your belief may be, and try not to worry too much over not getting pregnant. Itll happen when you least expect it. My friend and her hubs were ttc for a year and she got severely discouraged every time af came, and they gave up on ttc after a solid year and just prayed that it would happen some day. A month later, the day after I gave birth to my son in fact, she found out she was pregnant and now has a gorgeous 1 yr old daughter. It's easier said than done, but it really helps to just enjoy the "attempts" rather than stressing over if each time was "the" time. During those 5 months before conceiving our son, I really stopped worrying over whether or not I'd get pregnant and just focused on enjoying true intimacy with my husband. Hoping the best for you!!

If you actually want to get pregnant I suggest using OPK’s. 
And it takes the average healthy couple 12 months to conceive

Start temping and using OPKs if you want to actively try. Otherwise just keep not preventing, it’ll happen when it happens. 
21 is so young though. if you have met your person already, why not travel with them and spend tons of time together instead of rushing to have babies! Plenty of time for that in your mid 20s!
