After 5 years of being with my boyfriend and being fairly certain we wouldn't get married because of how we both feel about it. He asked me to marry him! I was completely taken by surprise, we had both expressed that we loved each other and just wanted to be together but marriage wasn't that important because we aren't having children and we're not religious, so why bother? Then out of nowhere he asks me at my grandma's house in front of her and my mom and aunt! To propose in front of the matriarch, was a bold move, luckily they ruled in his favor. 😂 they all love him so much because, well, hes amazing! It was really really sweet and so special. We are definitely not having a big wedding, more like a small party where we just so happen to get married. Lol. I never thought this would happen for me and I'm realizing now it was more important to me than I thought. Plus, knowing how socially awkward and shy he is and the fact that he'd be willing to go through all the congratulations and attention that ensues from engagements, means a lot. I already knew we were going to be together for a long long time but this is like icing on the cake! Just wanted to share it with y'all because I'm so excited right now!
