Successful unmedicated VBAC 02/12/2020 👏🏻😭
I had my baby girl on 02/12/2020 at 10:30pm. I wasn’t planning on not getting medicated but I had a succefull VBAC with only gas and air because my OB wanted me to feel the contractions so I can feel when to push. My labor start to finish was 14 hours and only 2 hours of active labor before I was fully in transition
I got to the hospital at 12pm with my membranes ruptured and only 1cm. Around 2pm they did a sweep and stretched me to a 2 from then it was all on my since doctor wouldn’t allow me to get pitocin. Around 6pm I was still at a 2/3 and chances of being sent for a cesarean again were high ( I DID NOT WANT TO HAVE A CSECTION AGAIN- was very traumatic for me)
Then contractions began to intensify and lasting longer than a minute and I asked for the gas and air which made me dizzy and nauseous but still helped. 8pm I was checked again and was at a 5. At 9pm I was checked and I was almost a 10 so they had me do practice pushes. By 10:15 I was fully dilated and she came into the world after just 4-5 pushes!😍😭
I’m so proud of my self I never thought I could do it. I hope others who are planning on a VBAC take a little bit of positivity and hope from my birth story. Mom and baby are healthy and resting, good luck to the rest of those still waiting ❤️❤️❤️
