Sometimes my boyfriend and I don’t, sometimes we do. We use condoms to ease his mind when he’s feeling anxious, and we don’t when we’re feeling good. It’s honestly all about communication and trust.

I imagine you already know that having the IUD does not prevent you from getting an STI. That being said, it is completely up to you. If you are in a committed relationship and, or you are comfortable with it, then go for it. That decision is completely up to you.
