I don’t have anyone to ask so shooting my shot here and hopefully someone has seen this happen /works dealing with the law.

I was in an abusive relationship. He was charged and sentenced to a few things in one county. (Involving me- I was the victim) and I stressed for months over having to go to court/trial and face him. In the end he plead guilty.

Now he is sitting in prison but another county is trying to get him with something else (involving me being the victim)

They transferred him here today for the arraignment and the victims assistant lady said he was adamant about pleading guilty but the judge wouldn’t let him!? Because he has no attorney. So the judge sent him outside with paperwork, he came back in with the public defender representing him and the public defender “put in a plea of not guilty on his behalf”

So we will have to go to trial? Or can he still put his guilty plea in? I’m literally so on edge sick to my stomach over this. I don’t understand WHY they didn’t just let him do the guilty plea??? That is not thinking of the victim at all now I could have to face him?
