Torticollis excersizes?
So my daughter is 6 weeks old and I believe she has torticollis. Her next pediatric appointment is in a couple weeks but I don’t want to wait until then to work in it if possible. At one month visit doc pointed out an ever so slight flat spot on her right side and I mentioned I already noticed it and we have been working on it with tummy time and turning her head throughout the day. She asked if she seemed to have neck issues turning her head since she clearly had a favorite side and I said no she can turn the other way because she does during feeds and to track rattles and our faces etc but since then I’ve noticed a tilt. It looks like classic torticollis and even tho her neck is strong and she can lift it and hold it up for long periods it is ALWAYS at a tilt. And in tummy time when she lifts it she will only turn it to one side from that position and cries when I move stimulus to her other side like she can’t look that way.
Like I said it seems obvious that’s what is going on and I want to work on the best ways to get ahead of it without waiting for pediatrician to diagnose in 2.5 weeks. What are the exercises or massages or techniques you found helpful? Like I said we do tummy time with moving stimulation and I feed her on other side when I can (the best position to stretch her neck is also most painful on my nipples of course) and I change her positions frequently to try to make her adjust her neck. What else can I be doing to help her?
And while she does almost always turn her head to the favored side at night while sleeping I’ve seen her voluntarily turn to other side in her sleep too. It seems like it’s only affecting her when she is using muscles to lift her head not when it’s resting? Idk. Help appreciated until I can get doctors advise!
