First doctors appointment??

Hey ladies!!! I just got my BFP last night YAY!
called my doctor today and she didn’t book me in until March 18th?! Like 5 weeks away. Is that normal??
What the heck do I do in the meantime?! Keep testing each day so make sure the HCG levels are still there??

Same here! I saw my family doctor yesterday to confirm pregnancy but I don’t have my first ultrasound until March 11 and first appointment with my midwife on March 16!

With my first I didn’t see the OB until 8 weeks, will be the same with this one. Unless there’s a history of complications  they won’t see you earlier. And I didn’t get blood draws for either

It’s normal. They like to wait until 8-9 weeks to do the first appointment and ultrasound. At least that’s the way it is in my Dr.’s office. Settle in...it’ll be here before you know it. 😊

You can’t see anything on an ultrasound till around 6 weeks anyways. I had an emergency at 6 weeks and two days so they did an internal ultrasound and everything was still really small.

I’m not sure where you’re at, but a lot of places won’t see you until around 8-12 weeks here in Colorado. I’ll be about 9 weeks when I get my first ultrasound.

Same here, went in for blood tests at 5weeks and my doc called and said everything is fine, so I should come back at 12 weeks for my first scan. So in the mean time, she said I should just continue taking my prenatal vitamins and eating healthy.

Yea normal. Most OBGYN won’t see you until you are roughly 8 weeks along, that way they can do an ultrasound and see/hear a heart beat. Some will order hcg level blood work just to confirm pregnancy until then but all depends on the clinic. Unless you are already seeing a specialist for infertility treatments and/or history of miscarriages then it is perfectly normal. Congrats mama!

I had a miscarriage in December and just found out last night and called my doc this am. 
They’re going to do a blood test confirmation to monitor my levels but my ultrasound isn’t until the middle of March. Insurance doesn’t cover ultrasounds until 10-12 weeks and they’re about $350 at my office without it.
