My February baby birth story
I’m home and finally decided to share my birth story. A couple days before I went into labor I had experienced period like cramps mainly at night with some slight spotting (just when wiping). Brought it up to my dr and she said it was most likely mucous plug. Then, early in the morning of February 8th around 4:15 am, I woke up to feeling leaking. So I got up to go to the bathroom and as soon as I stepped into my living room a huge gush happened. Immediately woke up my boyfriend saying my water just broke and he practically jumped out of bed. We got ready and headed to the hospital. By a little after 6am I was all checked in and hooked up to the monitors. Contractions came on very quickly (anywhere from 1-6 minutes apart and increasing in intensity every time). Then the nurses started panicking because every time I was having a contraction, my little man’s heart rate was dropping drastically. So of course I’m freaking out at that moment but trying to stay calm all at the same time. So they quickly get the doctor back in the room and I was only 2cm and 70% effaced so they decided that the best route was to have me get a c-section. So they quickly get me prepped, and gave me general anesthesia since they wanted him out ASAP. At 7:52 am he was born. I finally got to see him around noon once I was fully awake and out of recovery. He was born with his cord wrapped around his neck and abdomen. He is still currently in the NICU for having very low blood sugar but is progressing very well and should be hopefully able to come home this weekend.
Here is my little man.
