What is it like getting cavities filled?

I have cavities in three molars and I’ve never had a cavity filled and I want to know what it’s like because I’m scared lol. Can you eat after? Does it hurt real bad?

For me the worst part is hearing the drill. My dentist let's me have my headphones and I listen to music to try and distract myself

If the needles freak you out, do laughing gas. I did when I had to have a root canal and I spent a couple hours there, didn’t feel a thing and felt like I was sleeping 😂

It isn’t bad! You’ll be numb for a few hours which i think is the most annoying part. If sounds bother you take some headphones and listen to music or a podcast.

I just had mine filled. It’s honestly not that bad but your brain makes it worse than it is. They leave a numbing gel on your gums then come back and give you the numbing shot which is a tiny needle. A small quick pinch then drilling noises and white stuff flying everywhere but you don’t feel a thing. The worst part for me was after. I couldn’t move the left side of my mouth and it feels so big and droopy even though you look completely normal

The worst part is the numbing. It stings a little when the numb it. But during the procedure it’s just the noises and the pressure that sucks. My dentist lets me keep headphones in and I blast music. Things are still numb afterwards so it’s weird and uncomfortable to make facial expressions/swallow/talk just since you can’t feel your face lol. Things are a little tender once the numbing wares off but it’s just feels like you chewed gum for way too long and your jaw hurts. You’re teeth may also feel different but you’ll get used to it after a day or so.

They numb you - that’s the worst part is getting a shot in the gums 😂 other than that you just feel pressure - depending how deep the cavity is. Trust me if I can handle it as a kid/teen (I was the young one who had to be held down for shots, strep swabs, etc lmao no joke) then anyone can handle it 😂 you’re still numb after too, tbh I don’t think I ate until that evening and everything was normal
