Stroller for hiking parents?

Question

Any hiking/outdoorsy parents out there? Wondering if it’s necessary to get a jogging/all terrain stroller or do you prefer to just use a baby carrier while on hikes? Looking for strollers and want to get one that’ll last a good while and grow with baby and will suit our lifestyle best but isn’t very expensive.

Where we hike a stroller couldn’t work so a carrier is what we used. When they are littler a ring sling is my fav cuz they can breastfeed and snuggle. 
Then the back pack carrier is great when they’re the age to want to look around.

It's kinda personal preference. Here are some things to consider:
-bug and sun protection is way easier with a stroller (I also put a fan in there)
-a carrier is a little easier physically when going uphill
-if you trip/fall down with a baby in a carrier- baby falls too
-crossing streams (that I would normally jump) is tricky with a stroller.

My husband will usually carry our son in one of these when we go hiking.  It looks like they have some new models out now, so maybe look into those.
