so my daughter (1) has started rubbing herself against her car seat and squeezes her legs together over and over and when i put her in shopping carts she pushes herself forward and like grinds on it. she does this all the time i was wondering if it's normal?

Yes it's normal. She doesn't know what she's doing, she just knows it feels good and its normal for kids to explore their bodies. The best thing to do is talk to her about it, not freak out or punish/yell (not saying you are or will) Next time you notice her doing it, just explain that you understand it feels good and its normal to do that but she needs to do it in privacy because it's not something we do in public or around our friends, family, etc.
