so my SO and I have been together for almost 5 years. His daughters bday is on valentine's day, so we never do anything, except last year he left flowers in my car ( i worked close to him). This year I Just started a new job earlier this week, and he really doesn't know where I work but I kinda feel sad that he is not doing anything for me but he did text me and wish me happy valentines day. I wont see him until Monday and I know he is not going to even have flowers for me. Should I even be mad or just let it be that he atleast texted me happy V-day?

You guys dont celebrate it. What are you mad at? If you think that you guys should do something for valentines day, then you should say something. If you guys dont celebrate it, then you shouldnt be mad because you still expect something from him. If you want him to do things for you on Valentines, then you need to make it known. Maybe plan something with him. I dont celebrate it so yeah if my bf does something for me, it's a cute surprise. But if he does nothing, like who cares? It's not something we celebrate or care about. If the ONLY reason you guys dont celebrate it is because of the birthday issue and you actually want to celebrate it, again make it know or maybe theres another day you guys can pretend is valentines day. Dont just get mad at him when he has done nothing wrong. Him not being able to read your mind is not something you have a right to be mad at him for.

We don’t celebrate it because I honestly don’t need a specific day for him to show me that he loves me or that I love him we do small things for each other all year long that it’s just not something we need. If it’s something you really need or want why don’t you talk to him and celebrate it another day

Why don’t you suggest that y’all go out in a special date in the coming weeks, to celebrate your love for one another. It doesn’t have to be February 14th to celebrate, after all! 
My husband and I rarely celebrate valentines days because it’s one of our best friends birthdays, so we usually go out with her and her husband and make February 14th about her. However we usually find a night to celebrate us too, just on a different night.
