I told my doctor I’ve been having some anxiety and now I need to see a social worker? When I think of social worker I think of someone taking your baby..I’m nervous and I feel like I shouldn’t of mentioned it

Im a social worker. They get a bad rep for their historical beginnings if wirking with children. But we do way more than that. Either way its not a bad thing. 
A social worker can be super helpful if you indeed are going through any stressful or particularly challenging period in your life. I hope that you follow through and see one..and i hope that you have a positive experience.

O honey no! I'm a masters level social worker which means I'm licensed to provide therapy. I have a private practice and also fill the titles of "therapist" or "counselor". Not all 'therapists' are psychologists or psychiatrists. 
I can promise you I've never taken anyone's kids away nor do I have the authority to do so. The only way we make reports to "the state" is if you tell us you are abusing or neglecting your child or if you're a danger to your child.
