So for the past two weeks I’ve been seeing a bunch of memes on the Internet like “10 more days until you find out you’re the sidechick” or things along those lines. I thought nothing of it. Just thought they were like kind of stupid and funny and meaningless but now they have kind of got me thinking... am i a side chick??

I have been with this guy since October. Well really since November 2018 but we took a break in May 2019 to around September. Then we started dating again. The reason we took a break is because of his ex. When him and I got together in 2018 she was pregnant but i didnt know. He didnt even know or so he said. I found out in February 2019 which is when he told me he found out. He said she was already about 6 and a half months but she had kept it a secret. Things were weird after that, i cared about him but still felt like there was too much history and unfinished business between them . So when his baby was born the first week of May I ended things. I didn’t want to complicate things even more for him.

Then in September we started talking again and things escalated from there. I found out i was pregnant about four weeks ago very unexpectedly. When he found out he didnt react well. I assumed because his baby was only 8 months and he didnt want another so soon. But then he made comments about how his ex was going to be mad and try to keep his son from him. Part of me thought it was weird because it doesn’t concern her so why would she be mad? But i brushed it off bc he always told me how crazy she was. Then two weeks ago we were parked outside my house after getting back from a date, just talking before he had to go home and he all of a sudden got a call from his ex. Then another call. He ignored it. Then he asked me if i had noticed a white car drive by a couple times to which i said I wasn’t paying attention. I asked him why, and he said he thinks it was her. Another red flag because why would she know where i live and why would she be checking on him? But again he always said how crazy she was so i excused it by chalking it up to a psycho ex.

Last week I asked about going out tonight for Valentine’s Day since it’s on a friday. He usually doesnt work Fridays but said he was going to work overtime this weekend. So I thought okay, we can still see each other after for a bit after but he said he’d be tired. Whatever fine. Now today is Valentine’s day, and i havent even gotten a “happy valentine’s day” text. He messaged me twice the whole day about nothing really. Just random stuff, and that was 6 hours ago. I know he works until 5 so he should’ve been off hours ago. Yet no text or anything. We usually message all night even when he works. And since i found out about my pregnancy ive seen him twice. Two times in a whole month. Is this odd? Does it seem like Im the side chick?? Is he really still with his “baby mama”/ex and if so has he been since we started back in 2018, and has he been lying about it since?? Sorry i know this is stupid to ask a bunch of strangers, but what are your thoughts? Am I overthinking?
