Can nexplanon run out early Iv heard 3-5 years I’m a month away from the date I’m supposed to get it out and super late on period. taken many tests none showed. Should I worry of an ectopic or that the birth control has lost its strength?

My periods are somewhat irregular but never skipped, I’m day 44 on cycle and 12 days late. Cervix feels high with watery/kinda creamy cm. I had some False positives so maybe they weren’t and a chemical threw off my cycle? But if that’s the case wouldn’t my birth control not be effective
