I worked at an, admittedly, toxic job. I’m right out of high school and made ~7 an hour. Most times, I’d get cut after 10-30 minutes, so I’d go home empty handed. I was also pushed by a supervisor because he was angry with me.

My ex and I worked closely together in this job, but we recently broke up. I told my mother about this and she suggested I should quit. I said I would and that I’d speak to my manager about my two weeks notice and continue looking for employment.

Well, my mother lets me know to not worry about it. I ask her ‘why?’ And she said she already called and quit on the spot FOR ME. I’m so humiliated. I don’t even have words. What am I meant to do here?! I don’t want to ruin my chances at other jobs because my reputation at my first is ruined.
