38 weeks and 5 days

On Thursday I went to my 38 week ob appointment and I was told prior that I was 3cm at 36 weeks. Went in heard the heart rate and then had a cervix check. I was at 4cm and having contractions so I got sent to L&D to be monitored. I was there for 4 hours with no change other then having me walk around for about an hour.

Friday 02/14/2020 I woke up at 1:20 to my underwear soaked, I didn’t think much of it though so I just cleaned myself and laid back in bed. Within 5 minutes it happened again. I woke my husband up and told him it’s time that my water broke. Well getting ready it happened again so I threw on a postpartum pad. By 2am we got to the hospital and sure enough my water broke, but I was still at 4cm. I got told if my contractions didn’t pick up I would be getting medicine to help get them going. (I wasn’t sure if I wanted an epidural or not going into it, but my back hurt so bad.) at 6am I got the medicine to help contractions start. I asked for the epidural, I got checked again at 8:30am and told I was 9cm and it was almost time to push. By 9:30am we started to push. At 10:14am on 02/14/2020 I had my beautiful baby girl Corra Alice, 7 pounds and 6.6 ounces. Labor was a wonderful experience, I had to get a cut for her head but it didn’t hurt. Nothing hurt.

(I went in scared and not sure what to expect.)

We are still in the hospital because she won’t latch properly and is losing weight, but we’re hoping to go home tomorrow.

•the night my water broke I slept maybe 3 hours.

• last night I got 2 1/2 hours of sleep. I’m so tired but I can’t keep my eyes off my baby girl.
