My iud was placed and a month later after ultrasound I was told it was in the correct position. Now 5 months later I officially had it surgically removed after it perforated my uterus and ended up in my abdomen! It wasn't terribly painful the only way I knew something was up was because I had a heavy period and cramping which I hadn't had the 5 months prior. So happy to be done and also would like to tell people to think twice and do your research before getting one of these! My NEW dr said this isn't as uncommon as they make you think and that's scary to know.
