Anxiety over delivery

I’m 28 weeks pregnant and the further along I get, the more anxious and emotional I get about delivery. I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about delivery and just cry because I’m so scared. Not every night but its becoming more frequent. I never got help from a counselor like I should have last time. I’m trying to ask as many questions as possible to know what to expect whether I have a VBAC (which is what I really want) or a scheduled c-section (which I may need to have my OB says, she’s kind of pushing it - I’ll list reasons below). This is most likely our last pregnancy and I want to be excited to meet baby but i have so much fear about the 39th week (when things started going bad last time) and delivery. Has anyone else dealt with this? What did you do to help? Or even what. Did you do to just get through it all

Reasons why my OB says I have higher chances of needing a scheduled c-section:

- I had a c section last time, she won’t induce with a prior c section due to uterine rupture chances

- I have a long cervix

- baby has a two vessel cord

- it’s unknown what my pelvis structure is like and if baby will be able to fit through

- scheduled c section takes away the unknown of a repeat emergency c section

Your doctor is only VBAC tolerant not supportive. ACOG supports induction for VBACs in a medically needed case. Yes it raises the rupture risk but even with the increase the risk of rupture is still very low. Here are some stats I go by and a fb group that I highly recommend. Being part of the group and hearing success stories almost every day has been like therapy for me.

Also if an induction is required the risk of rupture is still less than 1%

I’d suggest finding a new dr or midwife. One who supports vbacs. Also, I would suggest spending some time looking at your previous birth experience and at your feelings for this one too. There is a great book that helps you work through those emotions so that you can be at your best when baby comes. You got this mom.

We had an emergency c section too. When I found out I was pregnant I threw up. I’ve been an emotional wreck over delivery. I wanna possibly do vbac but idk :( I don’t wanna experience the emergency c section again. I can’t get induced either i think that’s a rule across the board for every woman after surgery
