So, my boyfriend and I have full time jobs right now, both work 5 days a week with weekends off. He makes $15/hr and I make $13.50/hr. We both get paid every week.

We would like to move out this year and I’m so ready to move out of my parents basement I’m already googling apartments for rent.

I’m 23 and he’s 24. Both live at home still.

Thing is, I’ve found apartments around my city that are relatively cheap. About $780/month. Now, of course we’d split the bills and rent down the middle. But he keeps saying that it’s too expensive and he wants to pay $500/month or at least $600/month.

I told him that’s not very realistic especially around here. If we looked that cheap we’d be living in a dangerous area.

Based on how much we make and apartments renting for around $780/month, do you think we can afford it?

We definitely will be saving up more money and stuff, but I just want to be realistic and prepared.
